POLICE are investigating after a man was robbed as he walked in a Newport street on New Year's Eve.
One man held the victim as another searched his bag and took a Compaq laptop computer before pushing the man to the ground in Tredegar Street, Pill.
The thieves then ran off towards South Market Street. One of the men was described as very tall, of large build and in his 20s wearing a grey jacket, white baseball cap and jeans. The other had a thin build and was wearing a black jacket, jeans and woollen hat.
Anyone with information about the incident, which took place at about 6pm, is asked to contact Newport central police station on 01633 244999.
