ICE-SKATING and Christmas past were the theme of celebrations attended by hundreds of Gwent people at the weekend.
Usk was transported back in time on Saturday as the town filled with hundreds of visitors for its Victorian Day.
A town crier informed the crowds of a hog roast at Usk Memorial Hall, Craft Renaissance including jewellery-making and story-telling at Sessions House, a best-dressed window competition, horse and carriage rides, and all to music provided by the Usk Town Brass Band and the Salvation Army Band.
The event was the idea of the newly rejuvenated Usk Chamber of Trade, and traders joined in the fun, dressing in Victorian costume.
