CURRENT division one leaders Tranch United lost 5-3 away to Llanarth who have had a habit of taking scalps off the top teams.

Llanarth have won their last six consecutive games but Tranch United stay top due to second placed Crickhowell getting hammered 6-1 away at Sebastopol.

It means that Sebastopol take over from Crickhowell in second place, with Llanarth in third.

Match of the day in Division Two was the clash of the top two New Inn and Prescoed.

And it saw Prescoed stamp their authority on the league with a thumping 8-3 victory that puts them eight points clear of New Inn.

Cwmffrwdoer played a local derby at home to neighbours Fairfield United and, after a scoreless first-half, the game ended as a 1-1 draw.

Substitute Robby Peake put Cwmffrwdoer 1-0 up in the 70th minute with a goal scored from a deflected shot before Fairfield United equalised from a Chris Bradbury own goal scored in the last minute of the match.

Clydach Wasps and Lower New Inn drew in their match 2-2. A first-half goal in the 18th minute from Alun Willis gave Lower New Inn a 1-0 interval lead.

After the break, Simon Wells scored to put tLower 2-0 up on the hour mark before Colin Evans pulled a goal back for the Wasps in the 65th minute and Mark Hillman put the Wasps level at 2-2 five minutes from time.

Prescoed sent New Inn crashing under an 8-0 thrashing.

Prescoed led 3-0 at half time, their goals coming from Jamie Gorman, who got four, Aaron Smith (2), Mark McDowell and Paul Hannon. Goals scored for New Inn were two for Allan Pugh and the other from Wayne Wright.

Gilwern B took maximum points from their home match with Pontypool B via a 2-1 scoreline.

On the 30th minute, Andy Taylor scored a goal direct from a corner that gave Gilwern B a 1-0 half time lead.

In the second-half, Andy Taylor scored with just 15 minutes of the match remaining.

Pontypool B were awarded a penalty and Shane Thomas scored from the spot. The result now puts Gilwern B in fourth position and Pontypool B in eighth.

Race B visited Blaenavon Blues and were well on their way to claim the points by leading 2-0 at half-time.

But the Blues came back in the second-half to grab the victory by netting four times.

The goals for Race B came from Barry Reed and Leighton Roberts, while, for Blaenavon Blues, Damian Heward, Allan Scammels, Ryan Keen and Craig Harris all got on the scoresheet.

It did not help Race B's cause either tht they had Barry Reed sent off for violent conduct.

Blaenavon Blues had Leon Catley taken to hospital with a bad cut to his head following a clash.

The result leaves Blaenavon Blues in sixth position and Race B in seventh.

In the Division Two basement battle, Sebastopol B gave poor Abergavenny Thursdays a bit of a mauling, running away to an emphatic 7-0 victory. Sebastopol 'B' led 2-0 at half time and got another five in the second-half.

Their scorers were John Peploe (2), subs Alex Hughes (2), Jan Mruk, Scott Smith and Craig Lister.
