IT WAS a case of same shape of ball but different size for the cricketers of Glamorgan and Warwickshire yesterday.
The two teams lined up at Newport Stadium, Spytty Park, to engage in their first match of the season.
But it certainly was not cricket as the two teams put on their football boots and got to grips with each other on the soccer field.
And, despite the gloom and the slight drizzle of the day, the two teams managed to produce a ten-goal feast.
Glamorgan fielded most of their first team for the game, including people like Dan Cherry, who had a good game in the outfield.
Eventually, the battle of the English and Welsh was won by the home county.
Glamorgan won by two clear goals, enjoying a 6-4 success in the first game of its kind between the teams.
