Blackwood welcomes skate punk band Douglas tonight with Pete's Sake and Opium in support.
The Cardiff-based band are touring towards the release of their second album, to be released early in the new year.
It will follow this May's single B Is The New Way.
Formed in 1997 from ex-members of No Fit State, they began as Doug but changed their name after signing to US indie label GFY to avoid being sued by the Canadian band or American cartoon of the same name.
Six years is a long time to be a punk band but it does suggest they are genuine, or perhaps that they've just nothing better to do.
Their challenge on their new album is to beat their first album, Persona, which is still the band's finest hour.
* Douglas, Pete's Sake and Opium play Blackwood Miners' Institute on Friday, November 14, from 7.30pm (£4).
