DETECTIVES hunting robbers who tied up a householder and stole around £100,000 worth of goods are renewing appeals for information, after the investigation stalled.
Despite a television appeal on Crimestoppers, and extensive media coverage, the robbery at Oakfield, Llanbadoc, Usk, which happened in June, remains unsolved.
The raiders got away with distinctive jewellery including a £50,000 ring, a Rolex watch and a Samsung mobile phone connected to the Orange network.
Despite extensive police inquiries, no new information has come to light.
Superintendent Jon Burley, the operational manager for Monmouthshire and Torfaen, said: "We have no suspects at present and are hoping some of the distinctive property will turn up.
"We collected extensive forensic evidence at the scene immediately after the offence took place.
"We have had a number of leads following calls from the public and we have investigated those.
"Because of the nature of the property stolen, we would ask any person who has any information or suspicions about expensive articles or high value jewellery to come forward.
"We are also keen to speak to anyone with information on the attack."
Supt Burley said the investigation had been widened to cover the region in a bid to find robberies committed in a similar way.
But no leads were generated from that line of inquiry.
The robbery took place at 8.20am, on June 24, and at least four men are believed to have entered the property.
The terrified owner, James Gundy, 33, who lives in the distinctive black and white painted property with his partner, Christopher Hill, 57, was in bed at the time.
The men are thought to have shouted abuse about Mr Gundy's sexual orientation, but that is not believed to be the motive for the robbery.
Mr Gundy was taken downstairs after a pillow case was put over his head and tied with washing line.
A sharp object was pressed in his back and the thieves demanded to be shown the safe and for him to open it.
Police are keeping an open mind about whether the offenders knew the victim.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Gwent police headquarters on 01633 838111 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
