DJ SARA Cox has done it, and so has TV presenter Gail Porter.

Now Gwent's Ceri Jones, 22, is hoping that she will improve her modelling career with a scantily-clad appearance in a lads' magazine.

Ceri is one of two Gwent women included in FHM's top 100 'High Street Honeys' competition.

Ceri, who lives near Blackwood and 24-year-old Joanna Reakes, from Newport, pose in skimpy underwear for the latest edition of the magazine, out this week.

The two girls were among 100 picked from thousands across the UK who stripped down to their underwear and sent their saucy poses to FHM as part of their search for Britain's 'sexiest girl next door'.

Readers are now being asked to vote for their favourite girl in a nationwide poll, and can cast their votes over the phone, by post, or on the internet before September 18.

The winner of the competition will receive £10,000, and get the chance to pose for a front cover on the magazine.

The Argus tracked down Ceri, to find out how she (and her boyfriend) feel about having lads across the country poring over her picture.

Ceri says she is no stranger to appearing in public, playing the part of Natasha in Atomic Kitten tribute band Atomic Kittee.

She said: "I have done modelling for a couple of years and to win this competition would be a great move.

"I have appeared naked before in an advert for Apple Macs, but it was tasteful.

"These are definitely the sauciest pictures I have done, but I enjoyed it. "I can do all types of looks, innocent one minute, sexy the next."

The fame-hungry Ceri will also appear as an extra in the remake of Michael Caine classic Alfie, which starts filming next month and stars Jude Law.

And she said her boyfriend Craig Smith does not mind her appearing in the magazine.

She said: "My boyfriend took the photograph and he thinks it is great that I have got through. I just hope that everyone votes for me to help me get into the final."
