Peter Godsiff in Ireland
Cardiff touring professional James Lee missed a chance to tie the course record recently at Irish club St Helens Bay when he three putted the final green. But his five under par 67 brought a three shot win over Scott Macaskill (Downes Crediton) in the West Region Stena Line Irish Pro-Am at the club in Rosslare. It was his second successive win and he finished third on his first visit three years ago.
Fellow Welshman Matt Dearden (Hensol Golf Academy) and Alun Evans (Newport, Pembs) were tied for third.
Lee made an auspicious start with a level par 72 on the first day - despite being four under par after the first six holes.
The trip ended with the 18-hole St Helen's Bay Pro-Am and Lee completed a double by shooting a 68. He beat Evans by one shot in a round boosted by six consecutive birdies from the fourth hole. He was out in 30.
He led Tom and Jason Tuck from Cardiff and Paul Hancock from Wells to victory in the team event on 12 under par.
