THE sad story of Harry Hocking and his stolen scooter had a happy ending on Monday as the lucky lad received a new one from a local company.
Overjoyed Harry, 6, raced around the car park at the Bottle Green drinks company, Woodchester, after they presented him with the new toy.
Two weeks ago Harry was left distraught after his beloved scooter was stolen from his nan's home in Highfield Road, Stroud.
Bottle Green production manager Graham Morris saw the article in the SNJ and decided to help.
"I realised we had some scooters kicking about from a promotion we were running," he said. "So I rang the number in the paper and offered to donate one.
"Harry was over the moon, especially when he took it for a bit of a spin around the car park. I am very pleased we were able to help."
Mum Mia Hocking was also delighted with the gift.
"The company were wonderful to him," she said. "He was so chuffed. You do not get many people donating and doing things for others, so this was really nice."
The generous company also gave the family some free bottles of their famous drinks to take home with them.
