AS temperatures are due to reach 32 Celsius today, spare a thought for your pets.
The RSPCA are warning dog owners not to leave their pets in the car at any time.
The animal welfare charity warned dogs could suffer an agonising death if they are left inside a vehicle, especially during the current heatwave.
And staff at one supermarket chain will be doing their bit to ensure owners heed the RSPCA advice.
Pooch Patrols are being held in the car parks of all the Gwent Asda stores, where staff will be checking owners have not left dogs inside their cars while they are shopping.
Steve Cheetham, from the RSPCA, warned: "On a warm day the inside of a car can become like an oven, and each year a number of dogs are literally cooked to death after being left in vehicles."
