TAKING on-road ability and off-road agility to new heights is Mitsubishi's latest addition to its highly acclaimed range of 4x4 vehicles - the new Shogun Field.
Truly outstanding in its class, this special edition model combines all the qualities of comfort, practicality, reliability and performance that you can expect from a Mitsubishi Shogun and combines them with the very latest in all-wheel-drive technology.
Featuring Mitsubishi's unique Active Stability and Traction Control (MASTC), driving the Shogun Field means you are far more likely to get stuck behind traffic in a town centre, than you are stuck on a muddy hillside in the middle of nowhere.
The MASTC system has been developed following extensive research into the requirements of the 4x4 vehicle customer.
In high range, two or four-wheel drive, the stability control comes into effect if the on-board computer senses you are entering a corner too fast. By reducing the amount of throttle and activating the brakes in a controlled sequence, it helps the car turn, whilst maintaining maximum levels of grip and stability. However, if circumstances dictate, you can also switch the stability control off.
In low-range and four-wheel-drive, traction control is activated if the transmission detects a wheel spinning. It applies the brakes to that wheel and simultaneously diverts power to the others, providing astonishing adhesion in the most slippery of conditions and when encountering demanding ascents.
