PARENTS, governors and members of Chepstow's artistic community were amazed at the results of Pembroke primary pupils' eight-week collaboration with professional printmaker Pete Williams.
An exhibition displayed the work of pupils ranging in age from four to 11.
A grant from the Arts Council for Wales and extra funds from the Parents and Teachers Association had made it possible for Mr Williams, from Cardiff, to work with children for two days a week over two months.
He showed them the different stages of the printing process and enabled them to create a permanent sculpture at the school.
The sculpture consists of the pupils' own carved wood prints of Chepstow architecture, such as the castle, the arch and the bridge.
* In the picture: Ryan Mattinson, eight, of Pembroke Primary school, Bulwark, with one of the block prints.
