ART can be an expensive business, as anyone in the market for an original Van Gogh can tell you. But the work Vincent sold during his lifetime went for a bargain price.

The new One Price Art Show at Newport's GPF Gallery is providing a chance to get tomorrow's classics today, with a range of work from well-known Welsh artists - and Everything's £125.

Janet Martin, 48, owner of the GPF Gallery, said: "The show has become an annual event. This is the third we've done and they've all been successful.

"There are 25 artists because I've been picture framing for 25 years this year. I've had this building for 16 years but I produced my first frame from home 25 years ago. We started showing original art about nine years ago.

"And there's no private view - we'll be opening from 10am to 10pm tomorrow, and there's an art competition for children and live music in the evening.

"The band is led by an artist who's shown here, Beverly Gough, and she and the band Triflesky have just come back from Glastonbury.

"Philip Muirden, John Selway, Betty and Thomas Rathmell, Andy Lumborg, and Terry Ilott, who've all shown work here before, has work in the show. Toru is a Japanese artist who studied over in Japan and his work is quite remarkable.

"And every piece of work will be identically priced at £125. The exhibition is on until August but when work is sold it can be taken straight away.

"What I'm trying to do is find different ways of breaking down the barrier of art purchase and make the experience a bit more ordinary.

"We want to make people turn their heads and think about art is a different way."

The One Price Art Show opens tomorrow until August 18.
