ART shows may not be at the top of everyone's to-do list now the sunshine finally appears to have arrived.
But let's face it, this is Wales, and while there's no excuse for not enjoying the sunshine every chance you get, there's always a cloud on the horizon.
So, when the inevitable happens and the rain returns to keep our valleys green, step inside the Martin Tinney gallery to be dazzled by the work in its traditional summer show. There's work by so many different local artists that even Kim Howells might find one or two names familiar, including art by Ceri Richards, Harry Holland, Shani Rhys James, Mary Lloyd Jones, Claudia Williams, John Piper, Graham Sutherland and Sir Kyffin Williams.
Recent star of her own solo exhibition, Sally Moore has made some of her highly-coveted pieces available, and Mark Samuel returns with more of the peaceful urban landscapes that are fast making him one of Wales' brightest stars.
And the newer artists on show include James Donovan, Neil Canning, Clive Hicks-Jenkins, Dewi Tudur, Vivienne Williams, Mike Briscoe, Jessica Cooper and Mary Griffiths.
There are more than 40 artists represented in total and as work is sold it will be immediately replaced. With the line-up above there should be something to please everyone and everything is for sale at prices ranging from an affordable £75 to £15,000. The summer exhibition runs at the Martin Tinney Gallery, Cardiff, until August 2. The gallery is open from 10am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and from 10am to 5pm on Saturday.
