EDUCATION equipment worth £1,400 was stolen from Duffryn High School, Newport. Police are appealing for information about the burglary, which happened on Monday night and was discovered early yesterday morning.
Head teacher David Snashall said replacing the two Bush videos and the Panasonic projector, used for Powerpoint presentations, would cost about £3,000.
He added: "We've also got quite a lot of damage to doors. Four doors were kicked in and are going to have to be replaced."
Mr Snashall said the break-in happened in a building with a science prep room, a couple of offices and a special needs area.
"We are very unhappy because it means students won't get the opportunities of learning in different ways that they would otherwise have got, and especially because it was the special needs area," he said.
"Everything was cleaned up and we got back to normal as soon as possible." Police want anyone with information to contact Pill police station on 01633 244999 or Crimestoppers free on 0800 555111.
