GLAMORGAN captain Robert Croft admits the new Twenty20 cricket competition may call for constant changes to strategy in the weeks ahead.
Teams are still getting used to the 20 overs format and few have devised a real plan for it.
Indeed, Northamptonshire skipper Michael Hussey, architect of his team's win over Glamorgan at Cardiff on Monday, believes it may pay not to have a defined strategy as such.
"I opened in the first match, but we decided to use Ben Phillips in the second to try to take advantage of the first six overs and we may change it again for the next match," he said.
"You don't want to be predictable in this game because then teams can plan against you. I think it may be best to constantly mix things up."
Croft agreed to a degree when he said, "I think it's very much a case of suck it and see. "I think a lot of the basic principles stay the same but just that little 2% you do find out as you play each game.
"We'll take a bit of an assessment as we go along and then see where we are."
Glamorgan play their second game in the competition at home to Somerset tonight and with that team shorn of first team regulars Glamorgan should be able to grab their first win.
However they will remember an innings defeat by Somerset in the county championship.
"We're hoping for the same crowd we had on Monday," he said, "but a different result.
"At the end of the day we have to concentrate on what we do well.
"There are some fantastic cricketers in our dressing-room and one loss doesn't make us a bad team."
And of the competitiuon, he added: "I think people have got to learn to like it though obviously there may be a few sceptics along the way.
"But having witnessed the buzz on Monday I think they may be won around. "We're looking forward to playing Worcester and enjoying it."
Glamorgan squad: Croft, Thomas, Powell, Maynard, Hemp, Dale, Wallace, Kasprowicz, Thomas, Harrison, Cosker, Parkin. Start 5.30pm.
