PUPILS at a Monmouthshire school got a lesson in gymnastics from a British champion.
Hayley Price, pictured, the gymnast who won British titles in 1983 and 1985, visited Magor Church in Wales Primary to show the children how they could exercise.
The visit, organised by the Super Kids Fitness Foundation, coincided with sponsored aerobics sessions by the kids to raise money for IT equipment.
Teacher and PE-coordinator Joanna Breeze said: "It was a lovely day and the kids really enjoyed it, especially the demonstration.
"Hayley did some moves and some of the children helped her. She was doing a cartwheel without putting her hands on the floor, forward flips, backflips, rolls - all pretty impressive stuff.
"Three children took part in the demonstration and then there was an aerobics session for every class.
"I would have thought they will all be more interested in gymnastics now. There are children who go to gymnastics club anyway, and she was telling them she started aged about seven, the same age they are now.
"They asked lots of questions and wanted to see her do different moves and it was a really good day."
