A POLICE station has been refurbished and re-invented as a colourful day nursery for toddlers.
Footsteps Day Nursery in Llanbradach has 47 places available and for owners Jackie and Wayne Sebury it represents a dream come true.
Jackie said: "It has been a difficult few months overseeing the project and ensuring that all the works were completed. But thanks to the support of the local community, the council and other agencies we've finally done it."
The nursery at Llanbradach was officially opened last week by the chairman of Caerphilly council, councillor Malcolm Parker.
The authority has provided financial support and advice to help get the business off the ground.
The local ward councillor and cabinet member for economic development, Robert Gough, said: "This new business is a boost for the local economy and it has breathed new life into an historic building in the heart of the village.
"The council is always delighted to help new businesses in the borough and I would like to wish Jackie and Wayne all the best for the future."
