PRINCE William mania is set to take Newport by storm when he marks his 21st birthday with an official visit to the city on June 19.
Thousands are expected to line the streets to welcome the handsome prince, (pictured) who celebrates his coming of age two days later on the 21st.
The young pin-up will be joined by Prince Charles for his first trip to Newport, as part of a tour of Wales to mark his 21st birthday. And he will follow in tragic Princess Diana's footsteps by supporting the homeless. The two princes will visit NASH - Newport Action for Single Homeless - at their George Street centre to see their work.
Newport's mayor, Councillor Ray Truman, welcomed the news: "I think it's fantastic," he said. "He'll really have a marvellous welcome from everyone.
"I'm sure the young ladies will come out to see him and it will help put Newport on the map. We've got exciting things happening and this adds to it."
He added: "They're doing such marvellous work at NASH. Diana did a lot of work with the homeless and William is obviously following her."
