THE Princess Royal will be arriving in Newport by helicopter for a garden party at Tredegar House tomorrow.
Princess Anne will meet the Lord Mayor and Mayoress of Newport, and Welsh Assembly Education Minister Jane Davidson at the party, which will also be attended by Deputy Chief Constable Brian Davies, heritage officer Anne Tame and Basic Skills Agency director Alan Wells.
The princess will arrive at about 1pm and will be greeted by the deputy lord lieutenant, Major General Lennox Napier.
She will be entertained by Lewis Girls School Choir and will give a short speech before a performance by Fitzalan High School steel band. The princess will meet Tredegar House's head gardener, Steve Morgan, before leaving at 3pm.
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh visited Mold and Wrexham in North Wales yesterday as part of a two-day tour of the country.
The royal couple opened a science discovery centre at North East Wales Institute of Higher Education.
They will be joined by Prince Charles, who will be in Cardiff today for the official opening of the session of the National Assembly.
