NEWPORT Wasps promoter Tim Stone has lodged an appeal with the British Speedway Promoters' Association, demanding they overturn Sunday's home five-point British League Cup defeat against Elite League Poole Pirates, writes Ray Parker.
Stone is maintaining that Poole should not have been allowed the "facility" for Czech rider Lukas Dryml.
Because of the individual rider averages they were allowed to use any of their riders as a replacement and that proved crucial in the result.
Dryml rode in the Swedish Grand Prix, finishing second, and Poole were given special dispensation by the BSPA to use rider replacement.
But a furious Stone steamed: "I don't complain for the sake of complaining. But I will fight Newport's case if it is just and I can win.
"I spoke to referee Robbie Perks after the meeting and again in the evening. Poole came to the meeting with the paper work.
"I firmly believe they should not have been allowed the facility for Dryml and I am demanding that the match be overturned in Newport's favour."
