THEY call it the Blues - plural - because there are many shades of blue. And acoustic bluesman Ben Andrews, playing Abertillery next Thursday, is a master of them all. The guitar-picker from Washington DC has been playing for more than 20 years, and has amazed audiences in Holland, England and the USA.
He's been compared to Blind Blake, Willie McTell, Huddie Ledbetter and Mississipi John Hurt in his range, style and technique.
And he's performed with Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, Brownie McGhee, John Hammond Jnr, and Robert Lockwood Jnr.
Ben Andrews plays Abertillery Community Theatre on Thursday, next week. Tickets are £8 and the show begins at 8pm. Box office 01495 350360.
