TEENAGER Kirsty Roberts put in a command performance when she persuaded the Queen to pose for a photo with her.

Kirsty, 17, from Six Bells, cheekily asked the Queen for a photo during a visit by Gulf War families to RAF Honington, near Bury St Edmunds.

She, with parents Gwyn and Kay, was invited to the base to meet the Queen with other families who have loved ones serving in the Gulf.

Kirsty's 22-year-old brother Jonathan, a senior aircraftsman with the 16th squadron of the RAF, is currently serving on the West Kuwait region: "The Queen asked us what Jonathan was doing in the RAF and as she walked past I said 'Exc-use me your Majesty, can I have my picture taken with you?'.

"She paused for a moment and said to me 'But I haven't got a camera'. "I said my mother had one and the Queen was happy enough to pose for a photo - she was lovely.

"My Mum was shaking like a leaf when she took the photo and we were worried it wouldn't come out, but it did and now everybody wants a copy."

Kirsty, from Llwynon Road, previously featured in the Argus for undergoing a pioneering operation to lengthen her legs after being born with a rare genetic disorder that stunted her growth.
