THIS jack-knifed lorry caused traffic chaos on the M4 yesterday after careering across three carriageways.
The articulated lorry crashed into the central reservation at the Coldra, Newport, on the westbound carriageway just after 3.30pm.
The crash caused massive rush-hour jams in both directions on the motorway. It took until 1am to clear the wreckage.
Then, just before 4pm, a four-vehicle crash, on the eastbound carriageway at the Brynglas Tunnels junction, closed two of the M4's lanes, and led to around eight miles of queues.
Police closed the motorway to traffic for a short time at 8pm so the wreckage could be removed.
It is thought there were no serious injuries from either accident.
