SEVEN Labour Party members in Abergavenny burnt their party cards on Saturday afternoon in protest against the war in Iraq.
The members, with more than 150 years of Labour Party membership, burnt their cards in St John's Square, Abergavenny after a peace march.
Stephen Kay, member of the Gwent Peace and Justice Group, said: "We burnt the cards in opposition to Tony Blair's action in Iraq. I supported Labour for justice and equality not to encourage the American president to go to war."
Abergavenny Labour Party members overwhelmingly carried a motion opposing the war at their last meeting.
