A TEENAGE victim of rapist Carl Ball says her ordeal has left her unable to trust men.

The 19-year-old victim and her mother, pictured, told the Argus they are both suffering from mental problems because of the assault.

Ball, 32, an ex-steelworker from Newport, is currently serving ten years for vicious rapes and indecent attacks on two women in December 2000.

Last week Ball's other victim, Tracie Wainwright, waived her right to anonymity to tell the Argus how she has tried to put her ordeal behind her.

Tracie, 24, moved to a new area to escape the memories of being beaten and raped in her bedroom by sex beast Ball.

"I am fed up with hiding," she said. "Why should I hide? People don't need to whisper about me any more."

Now, Ball's second victim has come forward, saying she is still trying to rebuild her life.

The 19-year-old said: "It was a relief when he was sent to prison, just to know people believed me and that he would be locked up is something.

"But even though I try so hard to put it behind me the memories haunt me. I suffer from anxiety and depression and have been getting counselling, anti-depressants and sleeping pills, but nothing seems to help.

"Now I dread the day he is released. I will have to move, I'll be long gone, I don't want him coming after me. I just split up with my boyfriend because I couldn't deal with what happened and took it out on him. I find it hard to trust men.

"I just want Ball to admit what he did and say why he did it, and then I can move on and get on with my life."

The teenager's mum added: "I can't come to terms with what he has done to my daughter. There's not a day goes by that I don't think about what has happened."
