A HEALTHY big breakfast for Caerphilly MP Wayne David last Friday helped raise money for Cancer Research.
Tesco in Ystrad Mynach donated £1 for every breakfast eaten, and Wayne and his staff were happy to take up the hearty challenge.
They were joined at the store by Rita Jones, Chairperson of the Ystrad Mynach Committee branch of Cancer Research and Brenda Thomas as well as Julie Jones from Tesco.
Mr David, who has been involved in similar breakfast events at other venues, feels that raising awareness about cancer is every bit as important as the £65 that was raised on the day.
He said: "It was a wonderful opportunity to highlight and raise funds for Cancer Research. We all ate a very healthy breakfast, which consisted of bran flakes, brown toast with scrambled eggs and fresh orange juice.
There is no doubt that eating healthy reduces the incidence of certain cancers."
