SPECSAVERS in Newport has galvanised its customers into action to recycle used spectacles to help people in the developing world suffering from sight problems.
Over 1,000 pairs spectacles have been collected for dispatch to the charity Vision Aid Overseas.
Vision Aid's Lyn Redman said: "In the last 17 years we have managed to screen and provide spectacles for nearly 400,000 patients.
'"In order to do this work we rely on support from organisations like Specsavers and Hays DX which transports the glasses each week free of charge."
