FOR fresh country air, walks to suit almost any taste and activities galore for all the family a trip to the Brecon Beacons National Park is a must.
As the weather improves the Brecon Beacons is the place to take all the family to blow away the winter cobwebs.
The National park offers green open countryside and a history of the cultural heritage of the area.
Mountains, open lakes, fast- flowing rivers and cliffs are just some of the sights that you can expect to see.
There are many outdoor pursuits available such as walking, climbing and fishing. Walks in the countryside are available and accessible for walkers of all levels.
For the more advanced and experienced walkers, there is the opportunity to explore the summits of the beacons or for the more laid-back walkers there are footpaths through the landscape with a backdrop of mountains and streams to enjoy along the way.
The endless network of public rights of way and upland landscape offer excellent opportunities to fully explore the park and enjoy your time there.
If waking is not your chosen activity then bicycles are available to hire and you can cycle in a safe and healthy environment on the many cycle paths.
For people wanting to enjoy the views from the comfort of four legs rather than two, then horses are on hand for beginners and for the more experienced riders.
If you want to go to the national park for the spectacular views or information on the area then you can relax in the lounge of the Mountain Visitor Centre. Libanus, and enjoy the countryside of the Brecon beacons. Helen Roberts
