RON Davies may have to face questioning from senior members of the Welsh Labour party over allegations of another gay sex incident.
The ex-Welsh secretary could be accused of bringing the party into disrepute following the allegations in a national newspaper.
His local party in Caerphilly also wants to hear from the AM, who initially denied he was in the Somerset beauty spot where the incident allegedly took place.
He has now admitted that he was there but still denies claims in a national newspaper that he committed a gay sex act with a stranger.
It was alleged that he groped a builder after luring him into bushes at a picnic area near Bath on Monday.
Originally Mr Davies gave a detailed explanation of how he could not have been at the site.
In a new statement issued yesterday he said: "I did stop en route adjacent to the motorway at an area I now know as Tog Hill and had a confrontation with a man who identified himself as a Sun photographer.
"I had stopped in the car park to go to the lavatory and went for a short walk in an adjacent area of public woodland."
He went on to claim that, after walking for about 50 yards, he was conscious of being followed by two individuals.
"One of these engaged me briefly in conversation and the other one pulled out a camera and took photographs."
He said his earlier statements had been in response to a specific allegation that he was involved in an incident at 11am.
It is not the first time Mr Davies has been at the centre of such a controversy. In 1998 he resigned as Secretary of State for Wales after what he described as a "moment of madness" on Clapham Common.
