PUMPED-UP Bradley Pryce has revealed his secret weapon in his bid to capture the British welterweight crown - Joe Calzaghe.

The 21-year-old Cwmcarn fighter takes on cultured champion Neil Sinclair at Belfast's Odyssey Arena on Saturday night.

And he believes sparring with world champion stablemate Calzaghe over the past four weeks could be the key to him bringing home the coveted belt.

"I've done round after round with Joe and it's been a great boost for me sparring with the world champion,'' said Pryce who has bounced back from his first professional defeat to Londoner Ted Bami last August. "He hasn't sat back but pushed me all the way.

"I've done ten rounds with him in sparring and if I can do that against a much heavier, stronger fighter than Sinclair, I feel he's going to be no match for me on the night."

Pryce insists he's ready for the biggest fight of his life, despite taking the British shot at a short four-weeks notice.

"I peaked after about two-and-a-half weeks for this fight," he revealed. "I've just been constantly fit. I weigh 10st 9lb (two pounds over the limit) at the moment, so there will be no problem at all come the weigh-in tomorrow."

WBO super-middleweight champion Calzaghe, who has seen the IBF Intercontinental light-welterweight champion box since the age of nine, has every confidence in his stablemate who is trained by his own coach and father, Enzo.

"He's only 21 and he has got the chance to improve," predicted Calzaghe. "I think he can do it. He's been sparring with me and I know first hand what abilities he has. He just now has to transfer those abilities to the ring come Saturday night."

Pryce, though, has an enormous task as Ulsterman Sinclair can claim the prestigious Lonsdale belt, if he can successfully defend the title he won from Harry Dhami in November 2001 for the third time.
