NEWPORT County have advised supporters to purchase tickets for their FAW Premier Cup quarter-final clash with Swansea City today - or face disappointment.

The roof on the terraced area will not be completed in time for County's big night tomorrow (6.55pm) so only the all-seater and all-ticket 1,200-capacity Newport Stadium grandstand will be open, along with a minimal amount of pay-on-the-turnstile standing tickets.

But Exiles chairman Wallace Brown warned fans: "We expect the seating tickets for the grandstand to sell out today so we would advise fans to purchase their tickets as soon as possible today."

More than half the tickets have already been snapped-up and the BBC Wales televised game is expected to be a sell-out.

Brown said that any unsold tickets today would go on sale tomorrow morning, but added the supporters leaving it late could face disappointment and be left ticket-less.

County manager Peter Nicholas believes it wouldn't be a shock if his Dr Martens Premier League team beat Third Division basement-boys Swansea, who haven't won away for almost a year.

Swansea fans will be in the behind-the-goal terrace so only a small pay-on-the-night standing area will be available for Newport supporters.

l Mark Hughes is expected to include centre-back Daniel Gabbidon in his Wales squad to face Bosnia next month even though he hasn't played for Cardiff City for almost three months due to a back injury.

Gabbidon, 23, hobbled out of Cardiff's 3-2 defeat at Barnsley on November 9 with back spasms and hasn't played since.

But the Panteg-born player is almost back to full fitness and Hughes wants to see how he's progressing before their double-header with Azerbaijan and Yugoslavia.

Wales host Bosnia in a Millennium Stadium friendly on Wednesday, February 12 - and Hughes' squad could also include skipper Gary Speed who is recovering from a hernia operation.

Aston Villa right-back Mark Delaney, who broke a bone in his foot in Azerbaijan in November, will also be included in the Welsh squad when it is named by Hughes today.

Tickets for the Bosnia game go on sale today - priced £15, £10 and £5.
