LLANWERN bid to establish their best run of the season when they entertain Pontardawe in the First Division tomorrow.
Two successive wins over strugglers Ely Rangers and Garden Village have eased Llanwern's relegation fears and manager Kevin Russell said: "We have got a long way to go but the two results has given everyone a lift."
Pontardawe, unbeaten in their last nine games, are high-flying and if Russell's charges get a point it will be another sign of their improvement.
Russell added: "The difference between the last two matches and previous games was that we took our chances.
"We have always felt that we had the players to be successful and I have always felt we have been moving in the right direction but when you don't get the results then people start to doubt."
Treowen boss Richard Davies had hoped to include a new signing for the Third Division home derby with Albion Rovers - but he's so far drawn a blank.
And he added: "So, I'm still in the hunt for a striker and a central defender."
Front runner Jan Cegielski is probably out for the remainder of the season following a groin operation."
Caldicot are also involved in an all-Gwent game, at home to bottom team RTB Ebbw Vale who have Nicky Ward returning from a one-match ban to take the place of ankle injury victim Lee Hinch who was replaced at half-time in the win over Risca last week.
Tredegar travel to Treharris in Division Two looking to avenge a 3-0 home defeat suffered in September while Newport YMCA bid for the double over Morriston.
