FEARS are growing for the safety of a 21-year-old student who disappeared after a night out in Newport.
Rebekah Milford, (pictured) who is studying documentary photography at the University of Wales, Newport, was reported missing at 3am yesterday.
The young woman's friends who share the same halls of residence at the Caerleon campus raised the alarm when she failed to return there.
Rebekah had been out with fellow students at bars and clubs in Newport city centre before she disappeared from the Zanzibar night club, Stow Hill.
PC Chris Wright, of Gwent police, told the Argus: "Rebekah was out having a good time with six friends on their regular Wednesday night out. They drank in some pubs before ending up in the Zanzibar club.
"She was last seen on the dance floor at 1am wearing her grey coat. We have been examining CCTV footage and ringing anyone she may have contacted."
PC Wright added: "No-one she was with had any reason to worry about her safety, she was perfectly happy.
"Her friends returned to the halls of residence in Caerleon and assumed she would follow shortly.
"When she still had not come home by 3am they called the police." The young woman's parents, who are flying back from a holiday in Egypt and her two brothers have been told she is missing.
PC Wright said: "Rebekah is originally from Canterbury in Kent so we have been in contact with her family and friends there to see if she has contacted anyone. "We have also called her parents in Egypt and anyone else who might have heard from her around the country.
"Her parents are obviously distraught, she is their only daughter and they are extremely concerned for her safety."
Rebekah who is 5ft 8in tall. She was last seen at the Zanzibar club at 1am on Thursday wearing a long grey coat, jeans and black boots.
