TREDEGAR know their home and away games with Treorchy, their visit to Rumney and their home clash with Beddau will determine whether they survive in Division One this season, writes Paul Tully.
So it's not surprising coach Robert Johnstone says of the first of those encounters, Saturday's rearranged trip to meet the Zebras, "it's a vital game".
"We have not won away this season, so though Treorchy are struggling (one win in 22 league games) they'll fancy their chances against us," said Johnstone.
"But if we put in the same effort on Saturday as we did against Cross Keys last week and approach the game in the same manner, we'll win.
"We were aggressive and switched on at Pandy Park and were unlucky not to take the three points.
"But it was the same old story. We were camped on their line for ten or 15 minutes and failed to come away with anything and two bad passes also cost us scores.
"But credit to Cross Keys, they soaked up the pressure and scored tries at vital times." Johnstone added: "We have targeted the Treorchy game for a win but Treorchy will have done the same. They will see us as beatable and will lift their game.
"With the changes being proposed in Welsh rugby we don't know where we are going in Division One.
"We're carrying on on the basis of two going down, so our priority is to stay out of the bottom two and stay in this division and we are capable of doing that."
Tredegar are still unsure about their centre combination and have, therefore, chosen to leave the final decision on their team until the last minute.
Austin Morgan returns, but James Richards is unavailable in midfield.
