THE wife of tragic Blaenavon man Richard Davies has thanked the public for their support on the eve of his funeral tomorrow.
Mr Davies, 39, of Avon Road, disappeared on his works Christmas night out in Cardiff on December 20. His body was found in the River Taff last week.
His wife Michelle carried out numerous appeals for information for her husband whereabouts and never gave up hope that he would return home. But his body was discovered in the River Taff in Cardiff last Wednesday.
Now, in a letter to Argus readers on behalf of herself and the couple's two children Justin, aged 13, and Charlotte, aged 10, she writes: "I have had great difficulty putting pen to paper finding the right words to express to all how grateful myself, children and the families are for the continuing help and support we have received from members of the public and the South Wales Argus, so I'll just say thank you."
She previously told the Argus: "Everything revolves around him, he worships his children, they are the most important things to him."
A post mortem examination has been carried out on Mr Davies but toxicology results are still awaited. Police are not treating his death as suspicious.
The funeral is taking place on Friday at 11am at St Peter's Church, Blaenavon. Family flowers only have been requested but donations can be sent to the NSPCC which is a charity Mr Davies supported.
