PETER Nicholas has declared his Newport County squad fully fit for the first time in his two-month reign ahead of this Saturday's league clash with Bath City.
Ten-goal striker Neil Davis has been given a clean bill of health after seven weeks on the sidelines with a knee ligament injury while young right winger Richard French is ready to be considered for a starting berth again after an ankle problem.
"It's a luxury that I could get used to," quipped Exiles boss Nicholas.
Welsh semi-pro midfielder Nathan Davies and versatile Jeff Eckhardt, a defender who has also played up-front in recent weeks, have both been suffering from various knocks but are once again ready for action after impressing in last week's draw at title-contenders Chippenham Town.
Left-sided Scott Walker has also recovered from a bout of 'flu.
County's last Dr Martens Premier League defeat was in the reverse fixture at Bath five weeks ago. That 4-3 setbackt left Nicholas seething with Newport's defence, but on Saturday, he'll be looking for his side to win their fourth league match in five outings.
The roof on the terrace opposite the grandstand at Newport Stadium will not be finished in time for the Bath game but is expected to be completed for next Tuesday's FAW Premier Cup quarter-final showdown with Third Division strugglers Swansea City.
Meanwhile, County's Dr Martens Premier League match at Havant and Waterlooville on Saturday week has been re-arranged due to the Hampshire club's FA Trophy clash with Unibond Premier League Colwyn Bay.
The rescheduled game will now be played on Tuesday, March 4 (7.45pm). That leaves the Exiles with a vacant Saturday and boss Nicholas is hoping to arrange a friendly.
"We've got a few irons in the fire but nothing is certain at the moment," Nicholas said. l County will travel to Halesowen Town on Tuesday, March 18 (7.45pm) after the original New Year's Day fixture was rained off.
