A FIVE-YEAR training campaign at Tillery Valley Foods has reached a significant milestone as 300 of its staff have now received their NVQ-style training and qualifications.
The courses have been run by Qualtech Services of Pontypridd and have included subjects such as distribution and warehousing, food and drink manufacturing, procurement and management skills.
The firm has reported a range of benefits including greater staff commitment, a sharp decrease in staff turnover and a Wales Training Award.
Last year Tillery Valley Foods launched a £5 million expansion plan that will double the size of the plant and create 100 extra jobs.
The company claims that the performance of its workers was one of the key factors in the decision-making behind the plan.
