A CHARITY that works with mentally ill people in Newport has had its van broken into for the third time.
The six-seater van is used by the mobile gardening team of Growing Space, a mental health charity based at Tredegar House. The gardening team provide a free garden clearance service for elderly and disabled council tenants in Newport.
The van was broken into sometime over the weekend. The windows were smashed, the locks forced and the front grille stolen.
Paul Corrigan, (pictured) client supervisor of Growing Space, said it was the third incident since the van was bought last summer.
"This mindless act of vandalism will cause unnecessary delay and disruption to the valuable service we provide for tenants," he addedAnyone with information should contact police on 01633 838111.
