A TELEVISION crew and experts in the paranormal will be spending tonight at the Skirrid Mountain Inn, Abergavenny in a search for ghosts and ghouls.
The crew from UK Living's Most Haunted programme were due to arrive at Wales' oldest inn today and spend 24 hours trying to discover the history behind some of the ghosts that haunt the building.
Maria Appleton, owner of the Skirrid, said: "The whole day should be very interesting and I am looking forward to finding out more about the inn."
The inn, which is over 900 years old, has a varied and fascinating history. Judge Jeffries was based at the inn when it was a courthouse, and according to legend, hanged more than 180 people there.
Maria said: "The hanging beam is still here and causes a lot of interest from visitors." She said it was believed some of the people hanged may haunt the inn now.
Yvette Fielding will present the programme which will also feature Jason Karl, an expert in the physical and scientifically-measurable manifestations of the paranormal, and Derek Acorah, a medium who will be able to give some of the history behind the haunted happenings.
Maria said: "I am a little bit nervous as to what we will find out, but it will be good to know what happened in its long past."
