BLACKWOOD bruiser Bradley Pryce has been told to take his British title shot with both gloves next month.

The 21-year-old will take on Ulster's welter weight Neil Sinclair in Belfast on February 1.

And trainer Enzo Calzaghe has been quick to rebuff any suggestions that Pryce's golden opportunity has come too early.

"When is it right to go for something like this?," retorted Calzaghe. "Bradley has a 18-1 record so why not?

"This will be the acid test for him. But he has all the skills to beat Sinclair."

Sinclair was originally set to challenge WBU champion Jan Bergman but his manager apparently refused to work with promoter Frank Warren.

Instead Sinclair will now defend his domestic title for the third time in a bid to earn a Lonsdale belt against the Welshman who suffered his first professional defeat last August against Ted Bami.

But Pryce bounced back at light-middleweight with victory over Craig Lynch in Derby last November.

Pryce will now need to get down to 10st 7lb in time for his date in Belfast.
