A SNARE drum donated by Manic Street Preacher Sean Moore to help young people in Gwent has been snapped up by a fan.
It was donated by Sean (pictured) to be auctioned in aid of the Independent Living Skills department at Coleg Gwent's Pontypool Campus.
Manics fan Karen Kirk, 41, from Cardiff, who bought the drum for £1,000 said it was a unique opportunity to own a piece of music history.
The Ludwig Black Beauty snare drum is part of the original drum kit used during the making of the band's debut album Generation Terrorists and the filming of the Stay Beautiful video.
It was signed by Sean, Nicky Wire and James Dean Bradfield, and auctioned online at ebay.co.uk along with a personalised set of drumsticks.
The proceeds will go to the College's Independent Living Skills department at Pontypool, which helps young people, some of whom may have learning difficulties, to achieve their full potential.
Course tutor Ingrid Sourbutts said Sean heard about the work of the department through his mother, who works at Pontypool Campus.
"Sean and the band wanted to help raise funds and offered to donate the drum for auction.
"We are also grateful to the other people involved in the Forever Delayed website who sent individual donations."
