RESIDENTS in the Blackwood area are being asked to have their say on proposals for a new memorial in the town.
Caerphilly county borough wants to know what people think of its plan to site a new memorial next to Gibbons Plant Hire in Blackwood.
The existing memorial would remain at Pentwyn Road, but the name-plate would be transferred to the new site.
The local branch of the British Legion have requested the council put a memorial in a more central location with easier access.
Cabinet member and Blackwood councillor Darren Jones said: "We appreciate how important war memorials are within the community and how their relocation can be a sensitive issue. Therefore, we want to encourage as many local people as possible to have their say about these proposals."
