POLICE are still baffled by the disappearance of Blaenavon man Richard Davies, who has been missing for more than two weeks.

Detectives from Gwent Police and South Wales Police are trying to piece together what has happened to the father of two.

Mr Davies, aged 39, from Avon Road, went missing at around 11pm on December 20 while on a pre-Christmas night out with work colleagues in Cardiff city centre.

His disappearance has been described by his concerned family as 'totally out of character'.

At the weekend members of his family handed out leaflets outside the Reflex bar in St Mary Street, where he was last seen, asking people for their help in tracing him. But there were no new leads over the weekend.

His wife Michelle, 34, son Justin, 13, and daughter Charlotte, ten, have no idea why Mr Davies, who makes and fits uPVC windows for a Blaenavon firm, Resitech Design, went missing.

Mrs Davies told the Argus: "He was having his works party on the Friday and then it was all go with the preparations for Christmas.

"I am at a total loss. He was meant to meet my brother that night but didn't."

The Argus reported last week that Mr Davies was planning to take his family on a holiday to visit his brother in Australia in April and had made the booking only days before he went missing.

On the night of his disappearance, Mr Davies was wearing a light blue shirt, navy trousers and tan coloured shoes.

Detectives investigating his disappearance said Mr Davies went missing from Cardiff at the busiest night of the year with revellers swelling the numbers within the city limits to 200,000 people.

His details have now been placed on the Missing Persons Register and circulated to police officers across the UK.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Gwent Police on 01633 838111.
