FIRE and ambulance crews cut two passengers free from the wreckage of a car that overturned at the Tredegar Park roundabout, Newport, pictured.
It took around 40 minutes to free the passengers, who were from the Pontypool area, after the incident at 10.15pm on Friday.
Three of the car's occupants escaped with bruises, including the woman driver. But her mother, in her 60s, was taken to Newport's Royal Gwent Hospital with a fractured back. Her condition today was "comfortable".
The vehicle was lifted off the roundabout by a crane and taken to a specialist garage to be checked.
* Police are still appealing for witnesses to a crash on Nash Road, Newport, at 6pm on Friday.
One person was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital in a serious condition after a red Ford Escort travelling towards Goldcliff left the road and became partially submerged in a nearby stream.
The injured man suffered a fractured skull but was today in a "stable condition" after being moved from intensive care to a high dependency ward.
Two other people suffered minor injuries.
