COMTEC of Cwmbran, the travel industry's leading agency software provider, has launched EasySell Package, a dramatically enhanced version of its multi-operator 'search and booking' system EasySell.

The company says EasySell Package now enables agents to search holiday availability from a record 55 of the UK's major tour operators.

It also presents a raft of breakthrough features designed to help agents achieve quicker bookings.

These include the option to quote fully-inclusive holiday prices, links to electronic brochure pictures, and simple access to alternative flight options for the same holiday. For the first time in the industry's history, it says, EasySell Package will generate prices that incorporate all operator supplements, allowing the agent to present prices to customers with no hidden extras.

Chief executive Simon Powell said: "In the past, the travel industry has been criticised for not making pricing transparent. EasySell Pack-age addresses this issue by enabling agents to present the complete cost of a holiday."

Comtec says the new system also increases holiday choice, with agents able to extend search results to include a wider choice of departure times. This enables consultants to instantly present extra options if a flight time does not suit the customer.

EasySell Package allows agents to instantly display electronic brochure pages that correspond with holidays highlighted in search results, with the programmes of almost half of EasySell Package's 55 operators available.

Another new feature is access to an online gazetteer enabling agents to answer customer questions about the holiday destination, including weather forecasts, resort information and hotel reviews.

To complete a booking, EasySell Package connects the agent from the chosen holiday in the search screen to the appropriate page in the operator's reservations system, so dramatically speeding up the booking process.

"It has always been our aim to respond to industry trends by developing technology that makes it easier for agents to meet their customers' needs and speed up the working process at the same time," said Mr Powell.

EasySell first launched in 1999 and upgraded in 2000.
