A MEDICAL student says she "desperate" after three years of course work were stolen. Amy Thomas, of Cwmbran, says the notes stolen from her car earlier this week are irreplaceable.

The 22-year-old, who is studying at the University of Wales College of Medicine in Cardiff, was staying with a friend in Pontymister on Monday night.

Her notes were in the car as she was in the process of moving from Cardiff to live at her mother's home in Victoria Street, Old Cwmbran.

But during the night the car was broken into and many items, including books, CDs, videos and a computer printer, were taken.

"The other things can be replaced, but there was three years of coursework in that box and there is no way to replace it," said a distraught Amy.

"They are of no use to anyone else at all. I am just hoping they have been dumped somewhere and that someone finds them so I get them back."

She added that she needs the notes to study for her end-of-year examinations. Her mother Kay told the Argus: "Amy is feeling quite desperate.

"There is no way that she can copy three years' notes, while doing her next three years' work as well."

She added that Amy also had confidential notes on a patient's case study in the car, which were also stolen.

The work was contained in a large box, with Evian Water on it. Anyone who finds the box should contact Risca Police Station on 01633 612391.
