SOME musicians bloom and fade in a single season, while some are still around, and still improving, well past pensionable age.
It's almost 30 years since bluesman John Martyn's best-known work, the 1973 album Solid Air, the title track of which was written for his close friend Nick Drake.
But the Glaswegian has come through a period of artistic struggle with his integrity and talent intact.
Last year's album Glasgow Walker was hailed as a return to form and he'll be performing both new songs and old classics when he comes to Ebbw Vale's Beaufort Theatre on Sunday night.
Tickets are £17.50 and the show begins at 8pm. Box office 01495 350360.
