THEY want big presents for themselves, but when it comes to giving rather than receiving it really is the thought that counts.

But children who might like to pick up a little something for their grateful parents or grandparents could do much worse than visiting this year's early crop of Christmas Fayres.

Craft stalls, a white elephant stall, toy and book stalls and refreshments are all on offer tomorrow at Ebenezer Baptist Chapel, Commercial Street, Griffithstown.

Starting from 2pm and charging 20p admission, children will also get the chance to visit Father Christmas with the knowledge that there's plenty of time to change their minds if they need to.

There's also a Christmas Fayre at Pisgah Church, Talywain, tomorrow, which will be opened at 2.30pm.

And in Cardiff there's a sneak preview of the must-see Christmas show for children aged between three and six.

Ho Ho Ho tells the story of every child's festive nightmare. It's Christmas Eve and everything is ready to go, except for Santa himself.

Mother Christmas has fed the reindeers, put the elves to bed and wrapped all the presents, but her husband is nowhere to be seen - and if he doesn't start delivering soon, he'll never be finished in time.

Visiting Cardiff's Sherman Theatre at 11am and 2pm tomorrow, Ho Ho Ho promises songs, laughs, and more than a few surprises.

And after tomorrow's performances it won't be on for another month. Tickets are £6 for adults and £4 for children. Box office 02920 646909.
