FIFTY days after schoolgirl Jenna Baldwin, pictured, went missing, all her mum Desiree wants is to hear her voice.

Chief Inspector John Oliver, leading the investigation into her disappearance, today told the Argus: "Until Jenna is able to speak to the family directly or can contact us, the family have an agonising wait.

"I know the hopes of Jenna's mum are raised every time she receives a text - but its not the same as hearing her voice."

Gwent police say they are uneasy about the motive behind silent phone calls and text messages received by the missing 15-year-old's family.

Jenna has not been seen since she disappeared from her Abersychan home on September 10.

Her family has received text messages and silent and whispered phone calls. Her mother Desiree is convinced the information in the texts comes from her daughter. But she fears the writing of the text is being done by somebody else.

She fears that her daughter may be being held against her will.

Chief Inspector Oliver said: "We are getting increasingly concerned for the safety of Jenna and these texts are not helping the family."

He also made a repeat appeal for Jenna to send her mother an object to reassure her that she is safe.

He added: "Until we have evidence that Jenna is alive, safe and well, we will fear the worst and continue to make ground searches in woodland and open countryside."
